IF YOU FEEL PAIN IN YOUR KNEES OR SHINS WHEN YOU RUN OR WALK, ONE OF THE FIRST THING TO CHECK IS YOUR SHOES. HAVE YOU HAD YOUR RUNNING SHOES FOR MORE THAN 6 MONTHS, IF SO IT IS PROBABLY TIME TO INVEST IN A NEW PAIR. A GOOD RUNNING SHOE SHOULD HUG YOUR ARCH AND GIVE YOU GOOD ANKLE SUPPORT. YOU DON'T WANT TO BUY A SHOE THAT IS NOT COMFORTABLE AND HAS TO BE BROKEN IN. IT SHOULD FEEL GREAT RIGHT AWAY!

YOU WILL ALSO WANT TO CHECK YOUR RUNNING STYLE TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT FRONT LOADING ON YOUR KNEES AS YOU RUN. A LOT OF RUNNING SHOE STORES HAVE TRAINED STAFF TO HELP YOU LEARN HOW TO PROPERLY ALIGN YOUR FEET WHILE RUNNING.

IF YOUR KNEE PAIN PERSISTS AFTER CHANGING SHOES, IT MAY BE TIME TO HAVE IT CHECKED BY A DOCTOR. DON'T WAIT TOO LONG, YOU HOPEFULLY CAN CATCH IT AT A POINT, WHERE POSSIBLY SOME PHYSICAL THERAPY TYPE EXERCISES CAN HELP REMEDY THE SITUATION.
